Case of auto erotica at Chicagoland

My response to this article Case of auto erotica at Chicagoland

Mr. Wessler,
I just read your article "Case of auto erotica at Chicagoland", The majority of it was entertaining but I was deeply disappointed with the statement "I saw four Confederate flags: two crossed on the breast of a teenager's T-shirt, one on the bandanna of a barebacked fellow cooking ribs, one big one hanging third on a pole, topped by the American flag and an 8 flag. I'm not sure this proves anything except there are bound to be a couple of idiots in every crowd."

Are you implying that because someone chooses to fly the Confederate Flag in honor of their Heritage or wear it on their t-shirt or bandanna that they are idiots? If I don't agree with your beliefs does it give me a right to call you an idiot? Have you fallen into the beliefs of the PC crowd so far that you believe calling a group of people names will be acceptable. Or did this group of people displaying the Confederate Flag do something other than display the Flag to make you think of them as idiots, if so you did not make that clear.

My family is from the South and being raised under The Confederate Flag is an honor I cherish. We are a proud group who will defend our way of life without Hate, Name calling, or prejudice against someone because of skin color. Our Confederate Flag is not a symbol of racism, and if you choose to believe that it is just proves you have not done your homework. If calling someone an idiot because of where they are from makes you feel good. Bless Your Heart I know you are doing your best with what you have to work with.

Take Care and God Bless Ya!!

I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. I love the South. I recently went to Gettysburg on vacation and toured the battlefields. It was beautiful. I saw a t-shirt while I was there that had a Confederate flag on it. It said, "If this offends you, you need a history lesson." I thought that was very fitting.
